Temps are rising and it will soon be time to head into the tree line. Spring has been great so far and we’re looking forward to headed up into mountains for some of those legendary vibes.
Megaladon Moves
Naming boulders whatever you think they look like should be a full time job. Megaladon is spot on and climbing those serrations makes it too real. Nice work today!
Easy Peasy Lemon Squeezy
Spotting horned lizards on the way the boulders is part of the fun.
Late March Madness
A late March storm approaches with snow in the forecast again for the mountains. Mammoth Mountain has measured 306 inches of snow at Main Lodge thus far. A nice retainer winter to keep some of what last year’s mega winter provided.
What's Next?
Skateboarding into Spring
The seasonal shift is here and it brings new teachings about ourselves and how we prioritize our energy. Learning is living and Spring 2024 has a lot to teach us.
Coastal Refresh
Every year we visit the gems of the California coast to reset after peak work projects are completed and spring break too far off to wait. Knowing when to take breaks throughout the year, changing the scenery and bonding as a family is as important as anything else in life.
Reflection
Logging some miles for fun. Would have been cool with early morning light but those days are over. My new idea of photography and fun is exercise and not quite midday sun. Haha!
The Drop and Go
Hot Creek in winter is a special place. Zero people and inspiring natural beauty.
Between Storms
Enjoying the morning between storms and away from the crowds.
The Trusty Tablelands
Bishop Birds
A juvenile Northern Goshawk - Bishop, CA
The Pump Track - Chico, CA
Always a great time with all three generations of Holman’s on the Wildwood Park Pump Track in Chico, CA
Opening Weekend
Mammoth Mountain opened up this weekend and the house is prepped for another long winter. Looking forward to seeing how skills progress and spending time with all those who stop by during the 23/24 season.
National Bison Day
A day to honor the historical, cultural, and ecological legacy of the American Bison.
Winter Awaits
The last camping trip of the season is always a special one. There’s nothing better than October camping in the high country. Frosty mornings and no crowds.
A DAY OFF IN THE MOUNTAINS
First blog post in five years! Wake up early, keep hiking and don’t give up.
